About
Taylor County Development Authority
OUR MISSION . .
.
To promote job creation and increase
quality economic development within the community, while preserving the values
of our community.
The Taylor County Development Authority was created in 1959 by the Florida
Legislature. It is the lead economic development organization for
Taylor County Florida.
An Executive Director and an active Board of
Directors, working as a partner with both the Taylor County Board of County
Commissioners and the City of Perry City Council, work to ensure that all
economic development opportunities are explored and pursued if appropriate.
We are determined to work together to create our own future.
PURPOSE:
The Taylor County Development Authority
is a non-profit public corporation organized for the purpose of promoting
and increasing quality economic development within the community, while
preserving the values of our community.
VISION:
We envision Taylor County as a thriving
rural community that sustains its economic self-sufficiency through
creativity, diversity and collaboration of its citizens and businesses.
VALUES:
We the citizens, governmental entities
and businesses that constitute Taylor County, hold the following values as
keystone of our future growth and development:
We value an appropriate standard of
living for our citizens and community.
We value creativity, innovation, and
the contributions of all members of our community.
We value a delivery system of
education which addresses the requirements of all population segments within
the county.
We value the rural atmosphere of our
beautiful county.
We value the natural environmental
assets of our geographic region.
We value and encourage the free
enterprise system.
We value the firm belief in God and
the value of family.
These values are shared by all facets
of our society and have guided us in planning and development of our
strategic plan. They will continue to guide us for future decades as
we move forward towards tomorrow.
GUIDING PREMISE:
There is a direct relationship between
the total personal income of county and city residents and government
revenues associated with them. When new jobs increase personal income
in the city or county, it is reasonable to expect a corresponding increase
in county and city government revenues. The size of the increase in
county and city government revenues is a function of the payroll of new
jobs, the number of times the money rolls over in a local economy, the total
amount of personal income with the county and the amount of county revenue
associated with county or city residents. This provides for a better
quality of life for all of our citizens.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Follow up on referrals.
2.
Recruit new businesses, industries and tourism.
3.
Identify needs of clients seeking to locate in the county.

site selection assistance.
8.
Increase awareness of Taylor County as a business location investment
mission, using direct mail campaigns, advertising, public relation
activities and trade shows.
9.

10. Offer
comprehensive demographic data and economic analysis to companies seeking
information..
11. Provide
labor and training support information, permitting support and other
business development needs.
12. Promote,
support and encourage ecotourism and heritage tourism within our community.
